Who we are

Get Me OUT is a poverty-exit programme operating in Nigeria. We help verified beneficiaries follow a structured, funded pathway to sustainable income. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights — in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

What we collect, and why

  • Applicants & beneficiaries: your name, phone number, ward/LGA, household size, your skills and business plans, training results, equipment deliveries, and — once your journey is active — monthly progress information (income, savings, business status). We collect this for one purpose: to deliver, monitor, and verify your journey out of poverty. Our legal basis is your consent, given when you apply, and the delivery of the programme you asked to join.
  • Sponsors & staff: your name, email, and organisation, to operate your account.

We practise data minimisation: we collect only what the programme needs, and nothing else.

Who sees your information

  • Get Me OUT officers — the verified staff who manage your case. Every action they take is permanently recorded on an audit trail.
  • Sponsors — see only your first name, your ward/LGA, your pathway, and your progress. Never your surname, phone number, or private details.
  • Our AI assessment system — reviews the facts of your case to help officers decide fairly. It is never shown your name or phone number, and it cannot make decisions about you — a named human officer decides, and you can appeal any decision to a human panel.
  • We never sell your data. Published statistics are always aggregated and anonymised — no individual is identifiable.

Security & retention

Your data is stored securely with access controls enforced at the database level, and every access path is restricted to the role that needs it. We retain journey records for the duration of the programme and the follow-up period (up to 24 months after graduation), after which data is archived or anonymised.

Your rights

Under the NDPA you may request access to your data, correction of inaccuracies, or deletion (subject to legal and audit obligations). You may withdraw consent at any time, which ends your participation in the programme. To exercise any right, contact us below or tell any Get Me OUT officer.
